summer camp
In 1956, a small group of people had a vision of a youth camp on the shore of Pigeon Lake. With courage, foresight and a lot of hard work, they built the Pigeon Lake Youth Camp which eventually became Camp Maskepetoon.Maskepetoon was a Cree Indian Chief who embraced Christianity and was legendary for his ability to manifest God's love and forgiveness, bringing peace and friendship to warring Indian tribes and to the missionaries and settlers in the Pigeon Lake region.
Camp Maskepetoon provides an opportunity to develop lasting friendships and gain a deeper understanding of Christian community. Camp Maskepetoon has 10 natural log cabins set among the tall spruce and poplar trees. Meals are served in the main lodge, where campers can end their day with cocoa around the campfire.
